Jim Hume, Liberal Democrat MSP for the South of Scotland, has congratulated members of the Clyde River Action Group (CRAG) on their successful campaign against an unpopular 80-acre quarry proposal at Overburns Farm in Lamington, South Lanarkshire.
South Lanarkshire Council's Planning Committee unanimously rejected the application this morning (6th July) after months of campaigning by CRAG and other local residents.
Mr Hume said:
"I congratulate members of CRAG and other activists locally who stood up and chose not to accept this unpopular proposal.
"The work of the CRAG team has been well researched, well put together and they should be congratulated for executing a very well run campaign."
