Commenting on the announcement that FlyGlobespan has gone into administration with the loss of 800 jobs, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP said:
"This is by any standard a grievous day for the Scottish economy and transport in particular. 800 men and women will lose their jobs with FlyGlobespan. Many more in businesses that provide services to the airline.
"The Scottish Government must play a constructive role in helping FlyGlobespan staff who have lost their jobs with Christmas only a week away.
"Some have said this morning they knew nothing of their position and feel let down by the company."
