Commenting after the Health Secretary avoided calls for a public inquiry into C. Difficile at today's First Minister's Questions, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

"Two months ago the Scottish Parliament called for a full Public Inquiry. Yet ten weeks later, the Health Secretary continues to defy the will of Parliament.

"There is simply no excuse for Nicola Sturgeon not to instruct an inquiry."
